Warming Center Statement

There has been some miscommunication and confusion regarding the Rio Linda/Elverta Visions Committee’s involvement with the Rio Linda/Elverta Food Closet’s Homeless Warming Center.

Members of the Food Closet are also members of the Visions Committee, just as many of our members also serve other local organizations, such as the Rio Linda/Elverta Lions Club, The Rio Linda/Elverta Historical Society and the Rio Linda/Elverta Country Faire.

While we are proud of the good work the Food Closet does for the less fortunate members of our community, the working poor and homeless alike, we must make it clear that the Rio Linda/Elverta Visions Committee is not and was not involved in the creation or operation of the Warming Center.

We hope this clears up any misunderstanding or miscommunication.

Rio Linda/Elverta Visions Committee

The Rio Linda/Elverta Visions Committee is a grassroots, ad-hoc neighborhood association committed to improving the quality of life in our community, providing local businesses with the information they need to expand, grow and prosper within our community, supporting innovative ideas and balanced solutions that will help our community thrive, creating a network of concerned citizens, knowledgeable neighbors, community leaders and local business partners, and focusing on cooperative leadership, working together for the entire community.
